[R] RcppArmadillo compilation errors (Scientific Linux 6.5)

I would appreciate any help that you may be able to give. Please let me
know if any more information is required.

I get a the following error when I try to install RcppArmadillo in a
session started with R --vanilla using the
install.packages("RcppArmadillo") command.

make: *** [RcppArmadillo.o] Error 1
ERROR: compilation failed for package ‘RcppArmadillo’
* removing

The downloaded source packages are in
Warning message:
In install.packages("RcppArmadillo") :
  installation of package ‘RcppArmadillo’ had non-zero exit status

OS: Scientific Linux 6.5

R version 3.1.0 Patched (2014-06-15 r65949)
