Indeed, you were typing in a "little r", as opposed to a capital R.
Now, note the package list you installed:

r-base
littler
r-cran-plotrix
r-cran-qtl
r-cran-rggobi

One of which is "littler" -- aka "little R", which is a scripting
front end for R :-)
