[R] Install R on Cygwin (correction)

I guess you're trying to make a Windows computer work something like a
Unix computer when using R.

I tried for many weeks trying to get cygwin to work, but all sorts of
details never worked anywhere nearly as simply as they do using Linux.
What you might find useful to know is that the Windows version of
Emacs modified by Vincent Goulet is rather good.  It has ESS built
into it and gets you much closer to being able to work as though you
didn't have to move away from Unix (until you look outside the Emacs
window).  It would require you to get used to the idiosyncracies of
Emacs, of course.

It's a much easier option in my experience.  YMMV.
