Something like this should work:
xyplot(ferritin  ~ total|gender, data = blood,
       panel = function(x, y, ...){
           panel.xyplot(x, y)
           fm <- lm(log(y) ~ x)
           panel.curve(exp(predict(fm, newdata = list(x = x))))
       })
