[R] R-Commander - pie charts menu blinded out

Rcmdr is a bit "holier than the prophet" when it comes to insisting that 
categorical variables are coded as factors, so my immediate guess is 
that the variable that you're charting is actually numeric. What you 
need to do is to use the menu Data/Manage variables.../Convert numeric...
