[R] maximal dataset size

Primarily by computer memory. R is able to use virtual memory but is very
slow (worse with some Windows versions than others).
You probably don't want to use a dataset that is more than about 1/3 the
size of your computer's physical memory. With modern computers that is
still quite large.
