[R] the R package - relation to R project?

 Why not? Perhaps 'our R' should change its name to 'R-plus'? :)

 Alternatively, since the R language is object-oriented, it should 
be renamed "Oo-R". [that joke only accessible to British readers
familiar with comedy west country accents].
