Actually, it is the ascii transfer that could be problematic, because
different machines/OSes have different ideas of what is an ascii file
- and in the case of Microsoft, the same OS may even have multiple
conflicting ideas. A ctrl-Z which was standard for end-of-file in DOS
may be read as a character in Windows and cause the load to hiccup. So
what happens if you transfer in binary?
