[R] backslash

Hi R-people

I am trying to have R write latex-code.

"\begin{tabular}"

and

"\end{tabular}

do not produce similar results.  I would like to something like

write("\begin{tabular} ,file=. . .)
.
.
.
write("\end{tabular},file=. . .)
