[R] persp() and grey level

The new version of persp() has the argument shade that changes the grey
levels of the facets of the persp plot. I was wondering if it was
possible, maybe a trick using shade, to make the grey level of each facet
proportional to its height (z).
Thanks for any help.
Bill
