[R] installing R packages in Windows?

Not much, eh?  

I have put 2 zip files of packages of compiled for Guido Masarotto's port
of R-0.63.0 at http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/R/win32

lib1.zip contains

VR (MASS, class, nnet, spatial), tree

lib2.zip contains

KernSmooth acepack akima boot bootstrap cluster ctest integrate
logspline pspline rpart splines survival4

In each case cd to .../rw0630/library and unzip. All are the latest
versions on CRAN or later (if mine).

These all contain text and html help files, and the files for example(). I
have done a modest amount of re-mapping to avoid name clashes on
case-insensitive file systems.  To ensure that cross-links work, you
probably will need my file help.zip and unpack it in the parent of rw0630:
this replaces Guido's rw0630h and rw0630w and consistently uses mapped
names: the packages and functions html link to all these libraries. 

As for the remaining ones, I have no intention of porting libraries that
are not written in standard code and that I cannot even get to work on
Solaris; you do not need ppr (it is part of modreg) and xgobi is only of
any use to you if you use my Windows port of Xgobi which works
virtually unchanged on R.  I will port the next release of lme, equivalent
to nlme3.0b5. [In two cases in this set g77 failed on perfectly legal
Fortran, and in two cases I had to supply missing library routines so even
correct code needs tweaking. Certain authors seems to have no regard for
standards!]

I will post to R-devel shortly (probably tomorrow) details of the tools
used to build the help on these.

All of this is very experimental, so do be careful not to trust the
results.  As gunwin32 R has no batch mode, I cannot check standard scripts
easily and have only run cursory checks.  Later Guido and I will work out
a way to have pre-compiled on CRAN.
