BIOSTATISTICIAN
The Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory (MDIBL), an independent 
biomedical and marine research institution, seeks a full-time 
Biostatistician with strong bioinformatics skills. This individual will 
consult with research teams and will conduct bioinformatics/statistical 
analyses for a variety of studies from next generation sequencing 
projects to complex microarray experiments involving a range of 
platforms. The successful candidate will have interest in and aptitude 
for consulting with biological and environmental scientists, physicians, 
statisticians and computer science professionals. The successful 
candidate will have training and experience in the application of a 
broad range of statistical data analysis methods as well as 
computational methodologies for microarray, SNP, and sequence data 
analysis. Strong communication and writing skills are essential with an 
ability to communicate statistical concepts and data analysis 
interpretations to non-statisticians. The candidate must have a 
willingness and ability to learn new data analysis methods and to apply 
them to new domains. The qualified candidate must have a Masters degree 
and relevant work experience. We offer a competitive salary and benefits
